Hall and Auditorium, Faculty of Law

The new courtyard entrance of the Faculty of Economics and the expansion hosting the hall and auditorium of the Faculty of Law, the latter able to accommodate 300 people, was completed at the time of the rehabilitation of the Rákóczi Avenue complex of the University of Pécs. A cosy cafe was established below the descending lower ceiling structure of the lecture room, towards the courtyard rich with vegetation. The extension is reflectionally symmetric from the courtyard. It evokes the educational buildings of the fifties and sixties, but its materials emphasise its industrial character with superfluous-looking, dominant metal structures at the entrances and exaggerated ledges. Similarly to the Swallow House, also designed by the father-son designer duo, green and red are the dominant colours both on the outside and the inside of the building.
