The office building in Ipoly street was originally built for the Central Inspectorate of Transport. Its mass is integrated nicely in the street view, harmonizing with the existing firewalls. The two underground levels occupy the whole plot, but the six-story mass above is pulled back slightly, thus expanding the narrow street with another 5 meters. The limestone and aluminum-glass are two determinative materials of the facade running up into different heights. In the last decade Váci avenue has become the office district of our city. The Ipoly street building is a great example of high quality and long lasting developments. It is interesting that after being built for the Central Inspectorate of Transport, it was the UNHCR administrational center that moved here instead.
